"Presque Isle
In every life, there’s a moment or two.
In every life, a room somewhere, by the sea or
in the mountains.
On the table, a dish of apricots. Pits in a white ashtray.
Like all images, these were the conditions of a pact:
on your cheek, tremor of sunlight,
my finger pressing your lips.
The walls blue-white; paint from the low bureau
flaking a little.
That room must still exist, on the fourth floor,
with a small balcony overlooking the ocean.
A square white room, the top sheet pulled back over
the edge of the bed.
It hasn’t dissolved back into nothing, into reality.
Through the open window, sea air, smelling of iodine.
Early morning; a man calling a small boy back from the water.
That small boy – he would be twenty now.
Around your face, rushes of damp hair, streaked with auburn.
Muslin, flicker of silver. Heavy jar filled with white peonies."

Scott Solar, thats not my poem dear Sir. That's Louise Glück. Do you ever get any email's from me?
LoL, thats too good to attribute to me. It is part of her Pulitzer prize winning work, the Wild Iris.
Here is another:
Daisies
Go ahead: say what you're thinking. The garden
is not the real world. Machines
are the real world. Say frankly what anyone
could read in your face: it makes sense
to avoid us, to resist nostalgia. It is
not modern enough, the sound the wind
makes stirring a meadow of daisies: the mind
cannot shine following it. And the mind
wants to shine, plainly, as
machines shine, and not
grow deep, as, for example, roots. It is very touching,
all the same, to see you cautiously
approaching the meadow's border in early morning,
when no one could possibly
be watching you. The longer you stand at the edge,
the more nervous you seem. No one wants to hear
impressions of the natural world: you will be
laughed at again; scorn will be piled on you.
As for what you're actually
hearing this morning: think twice
before you tell anyone what was said in this field
and by whom.
Louise Glück is a master at working with the garden on earth and garden of eden themes. Dialog between the plants and dialog of the gardener with plants, plants having a monologue or prayer offering to the night, the gardener who may not hear, or to heaven (the sun) during the day; also she weaves the theme of the gardener who might say earnest matins or unorthodox vespers when weeding, and then the occasional response from the master of the garden or the Lord of the plants, speaks back to the plants, while the gardener is conscientiously weeding and cannot hear them talking to each other.
Its really very entertaining to read the Wild Iris.
Yes I think I got an email from you about friends and family counseling: didn't quite get it. or was that from Jeff?
Bru I think you need to quote your post.
"Not sure if this is what you mean, but I am putting my post inside quotes."
(Like that above?)
"What do you think about these head and shoulder formations appearing on family of charts at SPX and NYSE? Sirens of the Market? Sound like a new poem in the making...:)"

The chart above and below are medium term, within long term views. Also recalling some of Gannfann's analysis, as his blog was coming to a close... He indicated that SPX dropping down to 400 levels was potentially unavoidable. Not sure his exact use of language, but it does seem he had a strong concern that it was inevitable.
So do not get complacent with what media and economic news reporters are saying. If it goes down past the last low, the economic news reporters will not be paying anyone's margin calls.
Time is still an issue but Gannfann mentioned he thought it could happen in 6 months and that was about 2 months ago approximately.
Remember Gannfann, mention a belief that the down stroke to that level, would be quick.
I am just curious to mainly watch to see if the market breaks October November and March lows... after that it could be a stunning free fall. The bungee action could be quite nice. Be sure to wear crash helmets if you harness in for the ride.
